ARTIST CALLOUT – The Unspoken Flow: Connecting Mind and Body
The Bearded Dragon Gallery would like to announce our next exhibition officially opening on 1 May 2025 at 6:00pm – ‘The Unspoken Flow: Connecting Mind and Body’
There exists an invisible thread between the mind and body—an unspoken rhythm, a dance of thoughts, emotions, and movement. In modern psychology, this intricate experience is thought of as the foundation of our perception, creativity, and existence. How do these two forces communicate? How does the body translate the thinkings of the mind, and how does the mind respond to the body’s unspoken signals?
This exhibition invites artists to delve into this connection—what does the dance between body and mind look like, feel like, and mean for them?
Beyond this connection lies the flow state, a phenomenon familiar to many creatives. It is a space where time dissolves, self-consciousness fades, and the body and mind work in seamless harmony. In this state, focus sharpens, movements become intuitive, and creativity unfolds effortlessly.
Through this theme, artists are encouraged to question and explore: What does it take to reach this state of flow? How do body and mind synchronize to create art? What sensations, dreams, and subconscious narratives emerge in these moments? And how can we visually, emotionally, and physically express this through artistic practice?
The Unspoken Flow: Connecting Mind and Body is an invitation to step into this space, to listen to the silent dialogue between mind and body, and to translate that conversation into art.
We ask our artists to submit a minimum two artworks that explores what The Unspoken Flow means to them. All art submitted must align with the theme to be eligible for submission. All art submissions will be reviewed after the 31st of March 2025. Please note, due to the high levels of interest to exhibit with the Bearded Dragon Gallery, not all art can be accepted. You will be notified by the BDG team if your art has been accepted.
