The Bearded Dragon Gallery is proud to present their first exhibition for the year, titled “Beyond Words”.
The Gallery called out to South Australian artists living with disability or barriers, to submit artwork based on this theme.
Art is an important form of self-expression, especially for individuals that struggle with other forms of communication. We wanted to encourage freedom of expression, whether that means artists explore their deeper thoughts or emotions or just wanted to play with colour and mediums without applying meaning. Let the paint brush do the talking.
This exhibition was guided by inclusivity and to create a safe space for artists of all talents and skills.
“Beyond Words” will span across both Bearded Dragon Gallery locations, in the iconic Gays Arcade adjacent to Adelaide Arcade Rundle Mall and in our Adelaide Hills gallery of Stirling’s Oaks Plaza.
For a fresh twist in a fresh year, we are incorporating an interactive element to the exhibition. We will leave a notepad beside each artwork where visitors can share how the artwork made them feel. No need for applying meanings or critiques, but a safe space to reflect and share thoughts.
The official opening will be held in Gay’s Arcade on Thursday 13th April 6pm with nibbles and drinks provided. Tickets are free!
Exhibition running from 13th April – 19th June 2023.
