John “Bundy” Bannerman moved to the outback at the age of 7. He began his career in his family’s trucking business at an early age and has hauled everything from cattle, sheep, goats, mining equipment, irrigation, scrap metal, hay, and wool.

Over a 40 year career, he experienced a couple of accidents. The last one, in 2019, resulted in a back injury and the end of his trucking career. Due to the need to access complex rehabilitation services, Bundy now spends much of his time in the “big smoke”.

Having always wanted to try his hand at painting, in 2020 he decided this was his time to start. He approached Duthy Street Art Supplies and soon after began lessons with Megan Rodenrys and Kate Kuruzc, who continue to nurture his talent.

He now spends his time painting his love of trucks, cars, the outback, and anything else that excites his imagination. In 2021, Bundy was selected as a finalist in the Royal South Australian Society of Arts Portrait Prize.
